PALLET RACK REPAIR ENGINEERING
Light Duty Rack Lifting Jack Testing Data
SOLUTIONS ENGINEERING GROUP
The purpose of the testing was to verify the safety and capacity of Mac Rak’s 10-ton jack system design. (Light Duty version) Testing on 7 different pallet rack upright styles with corresponding lifting heads were performed.
Test conclusion: (Minimum tested load capacity for a single column) x (Safety reduction factor) = 14,305 lbs. Safe lifting load.
NOTE: The critical factor that determines if a lift is within a safe load range is dependent on the style of rack upright column, not the lifting limit of the jack system itself. (By itself, not attached to a pallet rack frame, the ultimate jack lifting limit is 24,851 lbs.) The rack type with the lowest load capacity was used in order to determine the safe lifting load for repair per SEI/ASCE 37-02 specifications.
